Dr. Alenka Jelovšek je raziskovalka v Sekciji za zgodovino slovenskega jezika na Inštitutu za slovenski jezik Frana Ramovša ZRC SAZU. V raziskovalnem delu se ukvarja predvsem s knjižno slovenščino 16. stoletja, zlasti z razvojem pisne norme in z osebnimi zaimki, ter z razvojem ogovornih oblik v slovenščini skozi zgodovino. Pri raziskovanju preizkuša možnosti uporabe sodobnih jezikovnih tehnologij pri analizi zgodovinskih besedil. Je soavtorica in sourednica nastajajočega Slovarja slovenskega knjižnega jezika 16. stoletja (prvi zvezek A–D je izšel 2021), urednica znanstvenokritične izdaje Gorskih bukev 1582 in sourednica spletnega obrnjenega Hipolitovega slovarja.
