Dr. Špela Vintar je redna profesorica na Oddelku za prevajalstvo Filozofske fakultete UL, kjer poučuje prevajalske tehnologije, upravljanje jezikovnih virov, lokalizacijo in luščenje terminologije. Raziskovalno se ukvarja z različnimi področji obdelave naravnega jezika, predvsem s semantiko in luščenjem znanja. Trenutno vodi projekt TermFrame: Terminologija in sheme znanja v večjezičnem prostoru, v okviru katerega ja nastala trijezična baza znanja za področje krasoslovja, koordinira pa tudi mednarodni konzorcij skupnega magistrskega študijskega programa Digitalno jezikoslovje, ki je bil pred kratkim akreditiran in se bo pričel s študijskim letom 2022/2023.
